Nittany Lions drop two straight
The Penn State football team has lost two straight games to Ohio State and Michigan State. The two losses came by a combined five points. Penn State is now 4-2 on the season, 1-2 in the Big Ten, 4-2 against the spread and 4-2 with the over.
Despite some offensive struggles in the recent losses, Penn State is averaging 44.2 points and 491.2 yards per game on offense this season. Miles Sanders has run for 700 yards and seven touchdowns this year for Penn State while quarterback Trace McSorley has thrown for 1,241 yards and 11 touchdowns while rushing for 447 yards and six touchdowns. KJ Hamler has caught 18 passes for 374 yards and five scores. Defensively, Penn State is allowing 21 points and 365 yards per game.
Indiana in a funk
The Indiana Hoosiers have lost two straight and three of their last four following a 42-16 loss at home to Iowa this past weekend. IU is now 4-3 overall, 1-3 in the Big Ten, 2-5 against the spread and 4-3 with the over.
Indiana has been respectable on offense this year, averaging 26.1 points and just under 400 yards per game. Quarterback Peyton Ramsey has thrown for 1,624 yards and 12 touchdowns, but also has seven interceptions. Stevie Scott is the leading rusher with 557 yards and four scores. Four different receivers have over 200 yards and a touchdown for the Hoosiers this season, as Ramsey has spread the ball around well.
College Football Betting Trends
Penn State
The Nittany Lions have hit the over in five straight road games in in seven of their last nine overall.
Indiana
Indiana has hit the over in four of their last five conference games and in four of their last five in October.
Prediction:
Penn State has scored at least 45 points in each game that it has won and been able to march all over average defensive teams. Indiana would certainly fit into that category. The Hoosiers aren’t terrible, but gave up 35 to Michigan State, 49 to Ohio State and Iowa. Penn State shouldn’t have trouble pushing for 50, especially with the frustrations of back-to-back losses. Indiana is still decent enough on offense to find some points as well, as Penn State hasn’t been dominant enough to completely shut them down. I like to over for this one.
