Louisville Cardinals Game Notes
Louisville redshirt junior QB Malik Cunningham completed 19-of-33 passes for 229 yards and two touchdowns while also rushing for 50 yards and two more touchdowns in a 47-27 loss to Georgia Tech. Cunningham (6’1/200) did all you can ask of him, leading Louisville to a 471-450 total yards advantage over GT. Their fate was sealed by three costly fumbles at inopportune times that helped to turn the game in Georgia Tech’s favor. The talented redshirt junior has performed well in mostly losing efforts, accounting for at least three touchdowns in three of his four games this season for the 1-3 Cardinals. The road doesn’t get any easier for Louisville as they travel to play Notre Dame next Saturday.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish Game Notes
Notre Dame moved up to the No.4 spot in the new AP top-25 poll following their win over Florida State. Notre Dame’s move has less to do with their win and more to do with Florida’s loss. The Gators, who were holding the No.4 spot heading into the weekend, took an upset loss to Texas A&M, giving Notre Dame the room to step up into a playoff spot. Notre Dame currently hold a 3-0 record with Louisville up next on the schedule. As of now, the Fighting Irish would be in the college football playoff, but they still have games set against Clemson and North Carolina this year, so things could change.
