Strong second quarter lifts Cincinnati
The Bearcats improved to 6-0 on the season with a 37-21 victory last weekend over visiting Tulane, outscoring the opposition 21-7 in the second quarter to lead 24-14 at halftime before adding to the lead in the third quarter. Desmond Ridder went 15-of-25 through the air for 174 yards plus two touchdowns and an interception. He also rushed 16 times for 65 and a TD. Michael Warren II had 18 carries for 123 yards and a score. Tavion Thomas carried it eight times for 59 plus a TD. Josiah Deguara had three catches for 49 yards, while Kahlil Lewis contributed three receptions for 40 and two TDs. Perry Young paced the defense with nine tackles and a half-sack.
Temple downs Navy on road
The Owls improved to 4-3 overall and 3-0 in conference play with a 24-17 victory at Navy. Temple scored the go-ahead touchdown with 9:14 remaining on a 62-yard touchdown pass from Anthony Russo to Ventell Bryant. Russo went 23-of-31 through the air for 300 yards with one TD and one INT. Rob Ritrovato had 12 carries for 35 yards and a TD. Tyliek Raynor carried three times for 25 and a touchdown. Bryant made eight receptions for 147 yards plus the TD. Sam Franklin had a team-best 10 tackles including two for a loss.
College Football Betting Trends
The under is 6-1 in the last seven Bearcats games on grass. The road team is 7-1 ATS in the last eight meetings.
The Owls are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings. Temple is 4-0 ATS in its last four games following a straight up win.
Usually it is a red flag when a ranked team is an underdog against an unranked opponent, but I actually like the Bearcats here. They come in with a lot of confidence and even if they lose, there is still a cover if they fall on a last-second field goal. The road team has had success in this series and I like that trend to continue.
