Auburn vs Ole Miss Prediction
Number nine Ole Miss hosts unranked Auburn at 12:00 PM ET on Saturday. Can the Rebels put up points and cover the spread as 15-point home favorites?
Auburn is 3-3 on the year, with non-conference wins over San Jose State and Mercer. The Tigers have dropped three of their first four conference games on the year. The Tigers are 1-5 ATS on the season.

Auburn Game Notes
Auburn got demolished by Penn State at home in Week 3 by a score of 41-12. The Tigers’ quarterback was T.J. Finley at that point, but he suffered a shoulder injury and was replaced by freshman Robby Ashford in the second half of that game. Finley has remained out of the lineup, and Ashford has held onto the starting job ever since, leading the team in all the major passing categories in only 3.5 full games of action. Ashford is more dynamic than Auburn’s former starter, as he’s second on the team in rushing yards with 275. Robby Ashford showed flashes of greatness in the team’s 21-17 home loss to LSU, throwing for 337 yards and 2 touchdowns. He’s probably going to be the starter for the foreseeable future and he should improve steadily as he gains experience.
The Tigers will also need to get their star running back Tank Bigsby going against the Rebels on Saturday. Tank Bigsby ran for 1,099 yards and 10 touchdowns last season and he’s a legitimate NFL prospect. But he hasn’t cracked the 100-yard mark since Auburn’s Week 1 win over Mercer. If Auburn can establish some sort of running game and not force their freshman QB to win this game on his own, they could cover the spread on Saturday.
Ole Miss Game Notes
At first glance, it appears that Ole Miss is rolling. They’re 6-0 and they’ve won each game by an average of 19 points. That’s the 12th-best average scoring margin in the nation. But if you dig a little deeper, the numbers tell a different story. Ole Miss only beat Tulsa at home by 8 points. Tulsa is 2-4 and just got blown out by Navy. Ole Miss should have lost to Kentucky at home but Wildcats quarterback Will Levis fumbled twice in critical situations, handing the Rebels the victory. Ole Miss was even trailing Vanderbilt 20-10 late in the second quarter last week before roaring back to win in blowout fashion 52-28. The Rebels' average turnover margin is -0.4, which is 81st in the nation. They have talented players like quarterback Jaxson Dart and running backs Quinshon Judkins and Zach Evans. Ole Miss has just been very close to the edge and they may go over it and suffer a bad loss here pretty soon. At the very least, the Rebels aren’t a lock to cover a spread of more than two touchdowns, in my opinion.

Auburn vs. Ole Miss Betting Prediction
Auburn held Missouri to 14 points and LSU to 21 points. They got blown out by Georgia last week but Georgia blows out most teams. The Tigers could catch the Rebels napping here as Ole Miss travels to LSU next weekend for the featured CBS afternoon game. Ole Miss gave up 107 rushing yards and a touchdown to Vanderbilt running back Ray Davis last week, and I could see Auburn’s Tank Bigsby putting up a similar stat line. Ole Miss might win, but I don’t think they’ll cover the spread. I’ll take Auburn and the points.
