Clemson looking strong
Clemson is coming off a 45-14 win over Florida State at home last weekend to stay unbeaten. The Tigers are 6-0 on the season, 3-0 in the ACC, 4-2 against the spread and 4-2 with the under.
The Tigers continue have a dominant defense, allowing just 12.3 points and 254.8 yards per game this year. Offensively, Clemson is putting up 39.2 points and 497 yards per game this season. Isaiah Simmons is leading the Clemson defense with 51 tackles and four sacks. Trevor Lawrence has thrown for 1,301 yards and 11 touchdowns with six interceptions. Travis Etienne is the leading rusher with 589 yards and five touchdowns. Tee Higgins is the team’s leading receiver with 24 catches for 549 yards and three touchdowns.
Louisville edges Wake in shootout
The Louisville Cardinals are coming off a 62-59 win at Wake Forest last weekend in a shootout. The Cardinals are 4-2 on the season, 2-1 in the ACC, 4-2 against the spread and 3-3 with the over/under total.
Louisville has a pretty good offense this season, averaging 37.3 points and 490.5 yards per game. Defensively, the Cardinals are giving up 31.5 points and 439.3 yards per contest. Louisville has QB issues as Jawon Pass and Micale Cunningham are both dealing with injuries that have them questionable. Cunning ham started against Wake, but had to leave with a head injury. He has thrown for 820 yards and seven touchdowns while rushing for 226 yards and three scores. Javian Hawkins has rushed for 622 yards and three touchdowns to lead the ground attack while Tutu Atwell has caught 32 passes for 509 yards and six scores.
College Football Betting Trends
Clemson
The Tigers are 6-1 with the under in their last seven conference games and 15-7 with the under in their last 22 games against a winning team.
Louisville
The Cardinals have hit the over in their last eight games in October and they are 6-2 with the over in their last eight games against a winning team.
Prediction:
These two have hit the over in three straight and Clemson has been able to feast on the Cardinals over the years. The Tigers have scored at least 42 points the last three against Louisville, including 77 last season. Clemson shouldn’t have a problem scoring against Louisville in this game. I don’t think the Tigers will put up 62 on their own, but I think Louisville can find some points in garbage time. The Tigers have given up at least 10 points in five of six games this year.
College Football Week 8 Prediction: Clemson/Louisville Over 61.5
