Auburn vs. LSU Prediction
Will Auburn cover the spread when it takes on LSU in Baton Rouge this Saturday afternoon?
THE ODDS: According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Auburn is now a 7-point road favorite to beat LSU after opening as a 6-point favorite. The total, meanwhile, has dropped to 44.5 after hitting the board at 47.

AUBURN: The Tigers haven’t won in Baton Rouge since the legendary ‘Cigar Game’ in 1999 when Auburn players were photographed lighting victory cigars at midfield of Tiger Stadium. Auburn has won just five times in Baton Rouge in the history of this series (1901, 1939, 1993, 1997 and 1999).
LSU: Coach Ed Orgeron reiterated earlier this week that running back Derrius Guice is not 100-percent. Guice sustained an apparent sprained knee against Mississippi State on September 16. He had 50 yards on 17 carries against the Gators, but Guice continues to deal with the injury.
“It is a nagging injury,” Orgeron said. “In order to play full speed, especially against an SEC team like Florida, you have to practice full speed.”

WHO COVERS: LSU is coming off a nice road win against Florida in which the Tigers reclaimed some of their dignity following a humiliating loss to Troy at home the week before. That said, the Tigers scored just 17 points in that victory and if it weren’t for Florida missing an extra point, who knows if LSU would have scored again. Either way, I don’t see Danny Etling doing much against an Auburn defense that up until last week hadn’t allowed 14 points in a game all season. And unlike Florida, Auburn can actually move the ball. Auburn should eventually wear down a tired LSU defense in the second half and cover the touchdown.
