Washington vs. Arizona St. Total Pick

College Football Picks: Will Washington, Arizona State get to 57? 10/12/17

Can No. 5 Washington put on another strong defensive performance when it hits the road to face Arizona State on Saturday at 10:45PM ET?

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Washington is favored on the road, as the Huskies are getting odds of -17.5 points against the Sun Devils. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 56.5 points. Arizona State has won nine of the last 10 in this series and these two have hit the under in their last three meetings. Saturday’s game takes place from Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, Arizona. The game will air live on ESPN.

Arizona State is coming off a bye week. The Sun Devils last game was a 34-24 loss at Stanford to fall to 2-3 on the season and 1-1 in the Pac-12. ASU is 4-1 with the under on the season. The Arizona State defense is giving up 36.4 points and 483.6 yards per game this year while the offense is putting up 32.6 points and 426.8 yards per contest. Manny Wilkins is leading the team with 1,452 yards and eight touchdowns while N’Keal Harry has caught 34 passes for 476 yards. Kalen Ballage has added 286 rushing yards and four touchdowns.

Washington improved to a perfect 6-0 on the season following a 38-7 win over Cal last week at home. The Huskies are 3-0 in conference play and 4-2 with the under. The reason for the unders is the defense, as Washington is allowing just 10.2 points and 228.8 yards per game this season. The Huskies are holding opponents to only 78.5 rushing yards per game. On offense, Washington is putting up 43 points and 432.3 yards per game. Jake Browning has thrown for 1,466 yards and 14 touchdowns to lead the unit while Myles Gaskin has 559 rushing yards with eight scores. Dante Pettis has 37 catches for 416 yards and six touchdowns and also has multiple punt returns for scores.

Bet on Washington vs. Arizona State

It hasn’t mattered the offense, Washington has been able to shut it down. Could Arizona State score more than 16 points? Possibly, but it’s hard to expect that right now the way Washington is playing. The Huskies have a strong offense, but Chris Petersen is about controlling tempo and clock with his unit. I think we see a similar story this weekend as Washington hits another under.
