2015 College Football Week 6 Georgia Tech vs. Clemson Picks & Predictions

The Clemson Tigers are flying high after holding on to beat Notre Dame last week but can they avoid a letdown today when they host Georgia Tech at 3:30PM ET?

According to oddsmakers from online sports book Mybookie.ag, the Tigers are 7-point home favorites versus the Yellow Jackets while the total currently sits at 54.5 points. Clemson is a perfect 4-0 straight up and 2-2 against the number, while GA Tech is 2-3 straight up and 2-3 at the betting window.

This is a tough spot for the Tigers. They're coming off an emotional victory against the Irish and now take on a Georgia Tech team that leads the ACC in scoring with 41.4 points per game, but is in the midst of a losing streak. The Yellow Jackets' option is usually a challenge for teams on short rest but Paul Johnson's team is only averaging 24.3 points per contest in their three game losing streak.

The smart play is to take the points and fade the team that's coming off the emotional high. Clemson is 0-6 against the spread in its last six conference games and 3-7 at the betting window in its last 10 games coming off a win. It's dangerous to play on teams that are struggling but Georgia Tech is capable of hanging with Clemson, even with the Tigers boasting such an outstanding defense.
