Tide not slowing down
Alabama continues to cruise through the season, as the Tide are coming off a 59-31 win over Ole Miss at home two weeks ago. Bama comes into this game 5-0 overall, 2-0 in the SEC, 2-3 against the spread and 3-2 with the over.
Alabama has a solid defense that is giving up 14.8 points and 325.6 yards per game. Those numbers are actually a little worse than usual for the Tide. Offensively, Alabama is third nationally in production. The Tide are averaging 51.8 points and 555 yards per game. Tua Tagovailoa is leading the team with 1,718 passing yards and 23 touchdowns without an interception. Najee Harris is the leading rusher with 337 yards and a score while Devonta Smith is the leading receiver with 31 catches for 537 yards and eight touchdowns.
Aggies survive scare
Texas A&M is coming off a scare against Arkansas two weeks ago in Arlington, picking up a 31-27 victory. A&M has two losses this year to Auburn and Clemson. They sit at 3-2 on the season, 1-1 in the SEC, 3-2 against the spread and 3-2 with the under.
The Aggies have been respectable on both sides of the ball. The defense is the stronger unit, as it has allowed just 17.8 points and 300.4 yards per game this season. Offensively, A&M is putting up 32.8 points and 426.4 yards per game. Quarterback Kellen Mond has thrown for 1,333 yards and 10 touchdowns to lead the offense while also rushing for 110 yards and two scores. Isaiah Spiller is the team’s leading rusher with 255 yards and three touchdowns while Jhamon Ausborn has 32 receptions for 446 yards and two touchdowns.
College Football Betting Trends
Alabama
The Tide are 4-1 with the over in their last five games following a win and 3-0-1 with the over in their last four conference games.
Texas A&M
Texas A&M is 13-3 with the under in their last 16 games in October, but 5-1 with the over in their last six home games.
Prediction:
These two have split the over/under total over their last six meetings. The total is being set pretty high for two teams that rank in the top 25 percent of the country in defense. We have seen what A&M can do against good teams and it isn’t much on offense. The Aggies had just 20 points against Auburn and 10 points against Clemson. I wouldn’t expect much different against Bama. While the Tide have given up more than usual this year, they also are scoring at a fast rate. I expect the Tide to hit a few speed bumps on offense on the road as well, which should put a little more responsibility on the defense to step up. I think the total is being set way too high for this game.
College Football Week 7 Prediction: Alabama/Texas A&M Under 62
