Texas Tech vs. TCU Total Prediction
In what should be an entertaining week-day battle between in-state rivals, the TCU Horned Frogs will host the Texas Tech Red Raiders at 7:30 p.m. ET on Thursday. With the total sitting in the low 60s, will the Big 12 rivals combine for enough points to push the score over the number?

Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetNow.eu, the Horned Frogs are 7-point favorites to beat the Red Raiders. The total, meanwhile, sits at 62 points. As of this writing, 59% of the public betting tickets wagered on this matchup are on the Red Raiders.
Texas Tech Red Raiders
Texas Tech HC Kliff Kingsbury is hopeful true freshman QB Alan Bowman (lung) will be available for the TCU game on Thursday. Bowman was hospitalized last Saturday after suffering a collapsed lung in the loss to West Virginia. He was kept under observation until his release last Wednesday. Texas Tech also hopes to get McLane Carter back for this one. If both can’t go, Tech has QB3 Jett Duffey waiting in the wings. Bowman ranks No. 9 nationally with 1,680 passing yards despite not starting the season opener, getting knocked out early against West Virginia and Texas Tech having already had its bye week.
TCU Horned Frogs
TCU sophomore quarterback Michael Collins might draw the start but not play full snaps on Thursday’s game against Texas Tech. Shawn Robinson (shoulder) is expected to play, but he may not start the game for some odd reason. If that’s the case, then Collins would be the likely starter even if it means he plays one quarter of the game.
Betting Trends
Texas Tech
The over is 5-1 in the Red Raiders’ last six games overall.
TCU
The over is 4-1 in the Horned Frogs’ last five home games.
Prediction
I don’t see this one going over the total, not with the question marks at the quarterback position on both sides. Shawn Robinson is dealing with a shoulder injury for TCU and could play but might not start. That means Collins could also see some time, which potentially leads to continuity issues for the Horned Frogs offense. On the other side, if Bowman and McLane Carter can’t play or are limited, that means Texas Tech is down to its third string quarterback. I think the under is an underrated play here.
