Texas A&M Aggies Game Notes
Haynes King will be Texas A&M’s starting quarterback with Max Johnson out for the year (hand), Billy Liucci of TexAgs.comreports. In three games this season, King has completed 39-of-64 passes for 510 yards, three touchdowns and four interceptions. The sophomore quarterback has also added 16 rushes for 66 yards and a touchdown on the ground. King was benched earlier in the year for Johnson due to his struggles, so it is possible five-star true freshman Conner Weigman could also see some time at quarterback.
Alabama Crimson Tide Game Notes
Bryce Young (shoulder) will be a game-time decision for Saturday’s meeting with Texas A&M. A final decision will be made in pregame warmups, Charlie Potter of 247sports.com reports. Young suffered a shoulder sprain in the Week 5 win over Arkansas and his final game status will come right down to kickoff. The positive news is that he’s been able to practice all week and is confident he could play, however, coach Nick Saban will leave the final decision to the team’s medical staff. Both Young and Jalen Milroe have been taking reps throughout the week, as the team prepares for the chance the he won’t play. The team has limited the amount Young has been able to throw in practice while trying to rest him up as much as possible leading up to Saturday. His final status will be determined by how well his shoulder responds to throwing in warmups. The team would certainly rather prevent further risk of injury than force him out there and possibly aggravate the issue even more.
