Stanford vs. Utah Prediction
Will Stanford cover the spread as a small road favorite tonight when the Cardinal takes on Pac-12 foe Utah at 10:15PM ET?
Who: Stanford (3-2) at Utah (4-0)
When: 10:15PM ET, Saturday, October 7
Where: Rice-Eccles Stadium, Salt Lake City, Utah
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Cardinal is 4-point road favorite versus the Utes, who opened as 3.5-point underdogs. The total, meanwhile, currently sits at 51.5 after hitting the board at 53.
Stanford Betting Trends
The Cardinal is 9-4 against the spread in their last 13 road games, are 41-19 against the number in their last 60 games after accumulating more than 450 total yards in their previous game and are 19-7 at the betting window in their last 26 games following an ATS loss. They’re also just 2-5 against the spread in their last seven games, however.
Utah Betting Trends
The Utes are 4-0 against the spread in their last four games versus a team with a winning record, are 4-0 against the number in their last four games overall, and are 5-1 against the number in their last six conference games. They’re also 5-2 against the spread in their last seven home games and are 5-2 at the betting window in their last seven games coming off an ATS win.
Our Prediction: Let me get this straight, Utah is the unbeaten team in this matchup and is playing in its homecoming but the Utes are the underdogs? Jump on Utah, right? Here's the problem: Sophomore starting quarterback Tyler Huntley went down with a shoulder injury in Utah's last game (30-24 win over Arizona) and was replaced by Troy Williams. While Williams is expected (he started all 13 of the team's games a year ago), Huntley offered that dual-threat ability that could give Stanford fits. With this being a late game, we're not sure the status of Huntley. But either way, I'll back the nations leading rusher in Bryce Love and lay the points with the Cardinal.
