Badgers return home
Wisconsin had a chance to recover after a pair of physical games with BYU and Iowa. The Badgers are coming into this weekend’s game with a 3-1 record overall and a 1-0 mark in the Big Ten. They are 1-3 against the spread and 2-2 with the over/under total.
The Badgers have continued to be strong on defense this season, allowing just 14.5 points and 307.8 yards per game. Their pass defense is allowing only 172.8 yards per game. On offense, Wisconsin is putting up 32.0 points and 467.0 yards per game thanks to a strong rushing attack. The Badgers put up 266.3 yards per game on the ground. Jonathan Taylor has run for 628 yards and five touchdowns to lead the unit while Alex Hornibrook has 800 passing yards with six touchdowns.
Huskers winless
The Scott Frost-era at Nebraska has not gotten off to a good start thus far, as the Cornhuskers are 0-4 overall and 0-4 against the spread following a 42-28 loss at home to Purdue last week. Nebraska is 0-2 in the Big Ten and 2-2 with the over/under total.
The Cornhuskers haven’t been able to stop anyone defensively, as they are giving up 38.8 points and 413-8 yards per game on the year. Their offense is averaging 410.8 yards per game, but posting only 21.3 points per contest. Freshman Adrian Martinez has thrown for 532 yards with three touchdowns and three interceptions while also rushing for 196 yards and two scores. Devine Ozigbo is the leading rusher with 260 yards and three touchdowns on 46 carries.
College Football Betting Trends
Wisconsin
The Badgers are 4-1 with the over in their last five games following a bye week, but 9-4 with the under in their last 13 games in October.
Nebraska
Nebraska is 5-0-1 with the over in its last six Big Ten games and 5-1 with the over in its last six following a loss.
Prediction:
Nebraska has been on a mess on defense, but Wisconsin isn’t a team that is going to put up a number too incredibly high. I expect the Badgers to have a healthy dose of offense and scoring tonight, but I think it will be contained to a degree. Nebraska should continue to struggle on offense when it faces one of the best defensive teams in the nation. I don’t see the Cornhuskers being able to score enough to hit a growing total.
