UCLA winless to start 2018
The Bruins fell to 0-4 on the season last week when it suffered a 38-16 loss at Colorado. UCLA is now 0-1 in the Pac-12, 1-3 against the spread and 2-2 with the over/under total. UCLA has hit the under in five of its last seven as a program.
Chip Kelly was known as an offensive genius with Oregon, but the Bruins are averaging just 17 points and 312 yards per game this season. Their passing game is putting up just 176.3 yards per contest. Dorian Thompson-Robinson has thrown for 660 yards and three touchdowns this season to go along with two interceptions. The leading rusher is Kazmeir Allen, who has just 173 yards and a touchdown. Defensively, UCLA is giving up 37.8 points and 421.5 yards per game this year, including 183 rushing yards per contest.
Washington wins fourth straight
Since losing its opener against Auburn, Washington has won four straight in pretty impressive fashion. Last week the Huskies dismantled BYU, 35-7. They are now 4-1 on the season, 2-0 in the Pac-12, 3-2 against the spread and 5-0 with the under.
Washington has been really solid on defense, as the Huskies are giving up just 11.6 points and 281 yards per game. Their pass defense is among the best in the nation, giving up just 155.2 yards per contest. Offensively, Washington is scoring 28.8 points per game while amassing 438.8 yards per contest. Jake Browning has thrown for 1,243 yards and eight touchdowns this year to lead the offense while Aaron Fuller has caught 30 passes for 474 yards and a score. Myles Gaskin has added 438 rushing yards and three touchdowns.
College Football Betting Trends
UCLA
The Bruins are just 3-9 ATS in their last 12 Pac-12 games and 0-4 ATS in their last four home games.
Washington
Washington is 9-4 against the spread in its last 13 conference games and 4-0 ATS in its last four road games against a team with a losing home record.
Prediction:
We haven’t see UCLA getting better this season, as the Bruins are doing less week-to-week on offense. Last week they were manhandled by Colorado and Washington seems to be a better version of the Buffaloes. The Huskies have already performed well away from home, playing a nail-biter with Auburn and winning by 14 at Utah. The Huskies’ defense should be able to stop UCLA’s offense while the Washington offense puts up enough offense to cover the spread.
