Colorado unbeaten
Colorado is coming off a 38-16 win over UCLA to move the Buffaloes to 4-0 on the season. They are 1-0 in Pac-12 games while posting a 3-1 record against the spread and a 3-1 record with the under.
The Buffaloes are having a strong year on both sides of the ball thus far, allowing just 17.8 points and 352 yards per game on defense. Offensively, Colorado is putting up 40.3 points and 489.8 yards per contest. Steven Montez has thrown for 1,092 yards and nine touchdowns to lead the offense this year while Travon McMillian has run for 392 yards and four touchdowns. Laviska Shenault Jr. is the leading receiver with 38 catches for 581 yards and four scores.
Arizona State with two road losses
Arizona State is 3-2 on the season, but the Sun Devils have lost both games on the road to San Diego State and Washington. ASU is 3-2 overall, 1-1 in the Pac-12, 4-1 against the spread and 3-2 with the over.
ASU has been stronger on defense under new coach Herm Edwards, allowing just 19.8 points and 363.2 yards per game. Offensively, Arizona State is putting up 31.6 points and 426 yards per contest. Eno Benjamin is leading the ground game with 595 yards and five scores.
College Football Betting Trends
Colorado
The Buffaloes are 2-5-1 ATS in their last eight home games and 0-4-1 ATS in their last five against a winning team.
Arizona State
ASU is 4-1 against the spread in its last five against a team with a winning record and 4-1 ATS in its last five games on grass.
Prediction:
Colorado hasn’t been truly tested yet. The Buffaloes had their closest game come against a Nebraska team that has looked like one of the worst in the country otherwise. While ASU has dropped two road games, the Sun Devils have been competitive against solid programs like San Diego State and Washington. They also own a win over Michigan State. ASU is definitely the more battle-tested team and I think that plays a big role today.
