Washington St. vs. Oregon Total Pick

College Football Pick: 61.5 points too low for Washington State vs. Oregon?

Will No. 11 Washington State put up another high total when the Cougars go on the road to face Oregon on Saturday at 8PM ET?

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Washington State is a slight favorite on the road, as the Cougars are getting odds of -2.5 points against Oregon. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 61.5 points. Washington State has won two straight against Oregon and the two have hit the over in five of their last six encounters. Saturday’s game takes place from Autzen Stadium in Eugene, Oregon and will air live on FOX.

Washington State is coming off a big 30-27 win over USC last week to improve to 5-0 on the season and 2-0 in the Pac-12. The Cougars are 3-2 with the under thus far, as their defense has been far superior than usual. Washington State is giving up just 20.2 points and 275.2 yards per game this year. The Cougars pass defense is allowing only 146.6 yards per game. On offense, Washington State is averaging 41 points and 495.8 yards per game behind a great passing attack that averages 414 yards per game. Luke Falk has thrown for 1,718 yards and 16 touchdowns with only two interceptions. Tavares Martin Jr. is the leading receiver with 32 receptions for 445 yards and seven touchdowns.

Oregon is coming off a 45-24 win at home over Cal last week to improve to 4-1 on the season and 1-1 in the Pac-12. The Ducks are 3-2 with the over this year, hitting it in all three home games. Oregon’s defense is allowing just 26 points and 332.2 yards per game this season while the offense is putting up 49.6 points and 537.4 yards per contest. Royce Freeman is leading the offense with 592 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns. Freeman is dealing with a shoulder injury but it won’t keep him from playing on Saturday. Justin Herbert has thrown for 1,264 yards and nine touchdowns to lead the passing attack.

Bet on Washington State vs. Oregon

This total is very low for a Oregon vs. Washington State matchup. Their last seven meetings have featured at least a 70.5-point total. Oddsmakers feel that both of these defenses are truly improved, but I think the offenses will take center stage. Both teams know how to score and move the ball and the Pac-12 isn’t known for defense. I expect another shootout as both defenses will be facing their toughest challenge yet. Jump on the chance at this low total.
