Tulsa looks to establish rushing attack

The Golden Hurricane's bread-and-butter is their rushing attack, led by Shamari Brooks as he has 92 carries for 375 yards and four touchdowns. Corey Taylor II has 59 rushes for 259 yards and two TDs. Through the air, quarterback Luke Skipper has completed 68-of-116 passes for 716 yards with four TDs and six INTs. Keenen Johnson leads a balanced receiving attack with 13 catches for 180 yards and a touchdown. Justin Hobbs has 15 receptions for 174 yards and a score. Tulsa enters with a 1-3 record and 0-1 in conference action after three straight losses.

King has accounted for 20 TDs

He has also rushed for 107 yards and five scores. Patrick Carr leads the rushing attack with 32 attempts for 201 yards and a TD. College Football Betting Trends

The Golden Hurricane are 34-55 ATS after two or more straight up losses since 1992. Tulsa is 12-3 ATS when the total is between 63.5 and 70 points since 1992.

The Cougars are 1-1 straight up in the last two meetings. Houston is 0-2 ATS in the last two meetings against Tulsa.

Houston is the more talented team here, but I think Tulsa can frustrate the hosts by keeping the chains moving on the ground and shortening the game. Tulsa is better on the ground than what it has shown to date and maybe it all clicks tonight. I'm not expecting the Golden Hurricane to win here, but I think they have the type of gameplan to keep it within a couple touchdowns. The spread opened at -14 and might slide back down a bit, so take advantage of getting 18.
