MTSU wins thriller over Florida Atlantic

The Blue Raiders scored the game-winning touchdown with seconds remaining last week in a 25-24 home win over Florida Atlantic. Tavares Thomas scored on a 1-yard touchdown run with 38 seconds to play to bring Middle Tennessee State within 24-23, while a 2-point conversion pass from Brent Stockstilll to Gatlin Casey pushed the hosts ahead. Stockstill was 27-of-40 for 259 yards with one touchdown and one interception in the victory. He also rushed for a team-best 56 yards on 14 carries, while Brad Anderson had 10 rushes for 51 yards and a score. Patrick Smith caught five passes for 89. Reed Blankenship and Darius Harris each made 10 tackles to pace the defense.

Marshall secures win late in game

A 32-yard touchdown pass from Isaiah Green to Tyre Brady with 1:44 remaining lifted the Thundering Herd to a 20-17 road win over Western Kentucky last weekend. Green went 18-of-39 through the air for 288 yards with two TDs and three INTs. Keion Davis led the rushing attack with 16 carries for 65 yards. Brady had a big game with eight receptions for 162 yards and two touchdowns. Brandon Drayton made a team-best seven tackles, while Frankie Hernandez and Ty Tyler both notched a sack.

College Football Betting Trends

Middle Tennessee State

The Blue Raiders are 0-2 ATS versus Marshall in the last two meetings. Both of the last two matchups have gone under the total.

The Thundering Herd have won both of the last two meetings straight up.

These teams are both coming off thrilling victories, which can always lead to a letdown the next week. Basically, I think these two squads are fairly evenly matched with Marshall perhaps having a little more firepower. While MTSU has struggled the last two meetings against Marshall, those kind of things tend to even out over time and I like the visitors to keep it close here and cover the spread.
