Tulsa commits five turnovers in loss

The Golden Hurricane suffered their third straight loss before a bye week back on Sept. 20 as it fell 31-17 at Temple, committing five turnovers in the process. Luke Skpper went 22-of-41 through the air for 195 yards and three interceptions. Skipper also lost two fumbles as all five turnovers were attributed to him, while he fumbled a total of four times. Corey Taylor rushed 23 times for 96 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Justin Hobbs led the aerial attack with nine catches for 78 yards. Cooper Edmiston recorded a team-best seven tackles and also had two interceptions.

Houston dominates Texas Southern

The Cougars have scored at least 45 points in every game they've played this season and had a team-high in points its last game as it cruised to a 70-14 home win over Texas Southern. D'Eriq King went 20-of-25 through the air for 200 yards and three touchdowns plus one interception, while he also rushed for a TD. Clayton Tune finished 12-of-23 through the air for 186 yards and two scores. Kelan Walker rushed nine times for 105 yards and a TD. Chandler Smith had 11 carries for 80 yards and two touchdowns. Kevrin Justice contributed six rushes for 39 yards and a TD. Marquez Stevenson registered six catches for 67 yards and a score. Henry Thomas had two catches for 50 and a touchdown. Keith Corbin made four receptions for 46 yards and a TD. Terry Mark had three catches for 28 yards and a TD, while Parker Eichenberger added a 2-yard TD reception. Austin Robinson paced the defense with eight tackles, while Derek Parish and Isaiah Chambers each contributed a half-sack.

College Football Betting Trends

The Golden Hurricane is 34-55 ATS after two or more straight up consecutive losses since 1992. Tulsa is 49-31 ATS in road games played on turf since 1992.

The Cougars are 0-2 ATS in their last two meetings versus the Golden Hurricane. Houston is 1-1 straight up versus Tulsa in the last two meetings.

Houston has proven it can score with the best of them, but I actually like the under here. What Tulsa does best is run the football, which keeps the clock moving and Houston off the field. The best part is that even if Tulsa falls behind, it will not abandon its bread-and-butter. The Golden Hurricane have not had a total go over 65 this season and I think they do their part in keeping this one under as well.
