UNC vs. FSU Prediction
Will No. 12 Florida State and North Carolina have an offensive showdown when the two teams meet up today at 3:30PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Florida State is favored at home in this game, as the Seminoles are getting odds of -10.5 points against UNC. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 70 points. These two haven’t met since 2010, but FSU has won four of the last five meetings and the two have hit the over in their last two encounters.
Bet on North Carolina vs. Florida State
Florida State returns home after a two-game road trip. They are 3-1 on the season while going 3-0 with the over in three lined totals. Scoring hasn’t been a terrible issue for FSU so far, averaging 43 points and 487.3 yards per game. They are doing with a perfect balance, averaging right around 240 yards per game in the air and on the ground. Dalvin Cook has run for 495 yards and four touchdowns to lead the offense while Deondre Francois has thrown for 951 yards and seven touchdowns. FSU’s concern heading into this game has to be on defense. The Seminoles are giving up an average of 35 points and 413 yards per game, including over 200 rushing yards per contest.
UNC has a pretty similar outlook to FSU when it comes to numbers. The Tar Heels have been good on offense (41.3 points, 470.8 yards per game), but the defense has been a mess (30 points, 424.8 yards per game). UNC comes into the game at 3-1 on the season with a 33-24 loss to Georgia to open the year. They have hit the over in three of the four games thanks to their offense. Mitch Trubisky has been airing it out often, racking up 1,306 yards and 10 touchdowns without an interception. Ryan Switzer has been the main target, catching 33 passes for 429 yards and two scores.

Clearly oddsmakers expect a shootout in this one and it’s understandable why. FSU has struggled to limit the last few respectable teams it has faced. Regardless, the Seminoles should be able to run the ball at will. Cook should put up big numbers. The big question is can UNC match FSU in scoring. I think FSU will be able to control the clock somewhat with Cook and that will keep UNC from posting too many points. I can see this being around a 42-24 game, but not enough to get the over.
