Minnesota vs. Penn St. Prediction
Can Minnesota and Penn State put on some offensive fireworks when the two Big Ten foes meet up today at 3:30PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Penn State is the slight favorite at home, as the Nittany Lions are getting odds of -2 points against the Golden Gophers. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 56.5 points. Penn State has won four of the last five in this series and the two have hit the over in three of their last five encounters.
Bet on Minnesota vs. Penn State
Penn State fell to 2-2 on the season with a 49-10 loss at Michigan last week. The Nittany Lions are 2-0 at home and 0-2 on the road while hitting the over in all four games. Typically known for defense, Penn State hasn’t been showing a lot of it this season. They are giving up 32.8 points and 387.5 yards per game right now while averaging just 338.5 yards per game on offense. Trace McSorley has thrown for 949 yards and five touchdowns this season while Saquon Barkley has run for 317 yards and six touchdowns.
Minnesota is now 3-0 on the season following a 31-24 win over Colorado State. The Gophers have hit the under in two of three games, largely due to a defense that is holding opponents to just 25 points and 347.3 yards per game. On offense, Minnesota has been surprisingly strong, averaging 39.7 points and 430 yards per contest. The Gophers have had a great ground game, putting up 685 yards in three contests. Rodney Smith is leading the way with 298 yards and five touchdowns while Mitch Leidner has thrown for 599 yards and four scores while rushing for 135 yards and three touchdowns.

When you think Penn State vs. Minnesota, you think defense. But, that just may not be the case anymore. Penn State is really struggling to get stops right now, especially against physical running teams. Minnesota is just that. The Gophers have looked pretty good on defense, though, and they may be able to limit what Penn State does. For that reason, I feel like the under will hit. Not because Penn State will slow down Minnesota, but the other way around.
