College Football Week 5 Predictions: Kentucky vs. Alabama 10/1/16

Even though the Tide is a massive favorite, will Alabama still find a way to cover against Kentucky tonight at 7:00PM ET?

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Crimson Tide is a 35.5-point home favorite tonight versus the Wildcats after it opened as a 34.5-point fave. The total, meanwhile, sits at 57.5 points after opening at that same number.

The Wildcats are just 2-10 against the spread in their last 12 games overall and are 1-6 against the number in their last seven games versus an opponent that owns a winning record. The Crimson Tide is now a perfect 4-0 against the spread in its last four home games and is 8-3 at the betting window in its last 11 games overall. Nick Saban's team is also 14-6 against the number in its last 20 games played in October and 7-3 ATS in its last 10 games after allowing less than 20 points in its previous game.

OUR PREDICTION: There's no reason to back Kentucky. The Wildcats scored just 17 points at home last week against South Carolina, giving way to the notion that they might not score at all tonight in Tuscaloosa. 'Bama, meanwhile, is focused on the task at hand and despite having a trip to Tennessee on the schedule next week, don't expect the Tide to suffer a letdown tonight.
