Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetNow.eu, the Sooners are 23.5-point favorites to beat the Bears. The total, meanwhile, sits at 68.5 points. As of this writing, 64% of the public betting tickets wagered on this matchup are on the Sooners.
Baylor Bears
Baylor sophomore QB Charlie Brewer went 19-of-27 for 221 yards and three touchdowns in Saturday’s 26-7 win over Kansas. He also ran for 56 yards. Up to this point, Brewer had been rotating with redshirt junior Jalen McClendon. That was the expectation heading into this one, too, but Brewer was nearly perfect in the first half, throwing for three TD, and Baylor kept McClendon planted on the bench until garbage time late in the fourth. Perhaps Brewer has earned the job to himself going forward.
Oklahoma Sooners
Oklahoma redshirt junior QB Kyler Murray completed 11-of-15 passes for 165 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception in Saturday’s 28-21 overtime win over Army. With just seconds remaining, Oklahoma missed what would have been a game winning 33-yard field goal which forced overtime. On the first OT possession, Murray found CeeDee Lamb for a touchdown, and the Sooners defense got an interception to end the nail-biter. Army was able to slow down the Oklahoma offense by keeping it’s defense fresh; the Knights held the ball for over 44 minutes. Murray didn’t put up huge numbers, but he was quite efficient through the air (11.0 YPA) and on the ground (10.1 YPC with a rushing TD). This was not a pretty game for OU, but they should be happy to at least pull away with a win. With this game behind them, the Sooners bring their 4-0 record into next Saturday’s game against Baylor.

Prediction
The Sooners scored only 28 points last week against Army and the game even went to overtime, but Oklahoma’s offense should get back on track Saturday. The Sooners only ran 40 offensive plays as Army played keep-away last Saturday but that won’t be the case this weekend versus the Bears. We know OU will score but can Baylor? They should. The Bears have a ton of offensive talent, from sophomore Charlie Brewer to receiver Josh Fleeks and fellow freshman wideout Tyquan Thornton. If that wasn’t enough, Tennessee transfer and former running back Jalen Hurd is tied for fifth in the Big 12 with 22 catches and ranks sixth in receiving yards with 311. Points won’t be a problem in Norman on Saturday.
