USC upsets Utah
USC is coming off a big upset win at home over Utah, 30-23. The Trojans improve to 3-1 on the year with the win, as well as 2-0 in the Pac-12. USC is 2-2 against the spread and 2-2 with the over/under total.
The Trojans are putting up 33.3 points and 443 yards per game on offense this season, but have been dealing with QB injuries. J.T. Daniels suffered a season-ending injury in the season opener, putting Kedon Slovis in. He threw for 732 yards and five touchdowns before suffering a concussion early in last week’s game. Matt Fink filled in and has thrown for 351 yards and three touchdowns in limited action. It’s unclear who will start as of now in this this game. Defensively, USC is allowing 24 points and 421 yards per contest. Michael Pittman Jr. is the team’s leading receiver with 31 catches for 437 yards and three touchdowns. Vavae Malepeai is the leading rusher with 311 yards and four touchdowns.
Huskies roll at BYU
Washington is coming off a 45-19 win at BYU last weekend to improve to 3-1 on the season. The Huskies are 0-1 in the Pac-12 with a loss to Cal. They are 3-1 against the spread and 3-1 with the over.
The Huskies have been an impressive defensive team, allowing 18.3 points and 332 yards per contest. Offensively, Washington puts up 40.8 points and 461.3 yards per game. Quarterback Jacob Eason threw for 1,063 yards and 10 touchdowns to lead the team while three different receivers have over 220 yards. On the ground, three different Huskies have over 200 yards rushing. Richard Newton has 242 yards and five rushing touchdowns. Myles Bryant has been leading the defense with 24 tackles and two interceptions.
College Football Betting Trends
USC
USC has hit the under in six of its last eight games following a win and in 13 of its last 19 games following a cover.
Washington
The Huskies are 8-2 with the under in their last 10 games in September and in six of their last eight conference games.
Prediction:
These two have hit the under in four straight meetings and I think signs point to a fifth straight this weekend. USC is coming off an emotional win at home, but the Trojans lost to BYU in their lone road game this year. USC has injury issues at QB and will face a pretty good defense. Washington has the potential to score big points, but we saw them held to just 20 points against Cal. I think the USC defense will get some stops with its offense struggling in this game, keeping the score low.
