Utah Utes Game Notes
Cameron Rising completed 18 of 30 passes for 224 yards and four touchdowns in Saturday’s 35 -7 win over San Diego State. He also rushed five times for four yards. Rising effectively puts to bed the notion that Utah lives and dies by the run. He became the first quarterback in Utah history to throw for 200-plus yards in the first three games of the season, and his work in the passing game accounted for four of Utah’s five touchdowns.
Arizona State Sun Devils Game Notes
Emroy Jones completed 20 of 32 passes for 182 yards and a touchdown in Saturday’s 30-21 loss to Eastern Michigan. He also rushed three times for seven yards and a touchdown. Arizona State’s defense was more to blame for this loss, and while Jones was efficient, the offensive scheme was very conservative in the passing game. Jones averaged only 5.7 yards per reception. Jones’ dual-threat capability makes him a viable fantasy option, but he’d be helped by more aggressive play-calling.
