Marshall Thundering Herd Game Notes
Marshall redshirt freshman QB Grant Wells completed 24-of-39 passing attempts for 439 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions on Saturday in a 42-38 loss to East Carolina. This was a game Marshall looked like it had in the bag, but East Carolina turned a 38-21 deficit with 1:30 left in the fourth quarter into a thrilling comeback and what is quite honestly a very bad loss for the Thundering Herd. Wells (6’2/210) isn’t completely without blame for this, as he threw two costly interceptions in a game that ended up being a one-possession game. He did make some solid throws, however, and had a nice repertoire with Corey Gammage (8-180). Wells and Marshall will try and bounce back on Thursday against Appalachian State.
Appalachian State Mountaineers Game Notes
Appalachian State RB Camrun Peoples rushes for 94 yards and a touchdown in a 25-23 loss to Miami. Peoples is coming off a 100 rushing yard and two touchdown performance against East Carolina; facing this talented Miami defense would be a challenge. The junior helped the Mountaineers early when he took the handoff and burst right up the middle through the Miami defense for the 17-yard score, tying this game at seven in the first quarter. The ground game of Peoples and Nate Noel was potent and kept App State in this game till the very end. The Mountaineers will host Elon next Saturday 9/18.
Marshall vs. Appalachian State Betting Prediction
