Florida vs. Kentucky Prediction
Will Kentucky finally end its losing streak against Florida and pull off the small upset versus the Gators at 7:30PM ET?
Who: Florida (1-1) at Kentucky (3-0)
When: 7:30PM ET, Saturday, September 23
Where: Commonwealth Stadium, Lexington, KY
Current Point Spread & Over/Under Total
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Florida is a 2.5-point road favorite to beat Kentucky after opening as a 4-point favorite earlier in the week. The total, meanwhile, sits at 43.5 points after opening at 47.
Florida Betting Trends
The Gators are 10-4 against the spread in their last 14 road games versus a team with a winning home record but are just 1-3-1 against the number in their last five conference games. They're also just 1-4 at the betting window in their last five games overall and winless at 0-4 against the number in their last four games played in the month of September.
Kentucky Betting Trends
The Wildcats are 7-1 against the spread in their last eight conference games, are 5-0 against the number in their last five games after accumulating less than 170 yards passing, and are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games after allowing less than 20 points in their previous game. That said, Kentucky is also winless at 0-4 against the spread in its last four home games.
OUR PREDICTION: Florida pulled off the victory last week against Tennessee thanks to a miracle last play, but the Hail Mary overshawdowed the fact that the Gators once again struggled to move the ball. I don't think they'll build off the momentum of that one play. I'd rather bet on Kentucky building off an impressive victory over South Carolina. Florida's defense is stout, but the Wildcats have a weapon in dual-threat quarterback Stephen Johnson, who should give the Gators trouble if they continue to struggle with their tackling. I think UK has a good chance of ending its long losing streak versus the Gators tonight.
