Virginia tops FSU
The Virginia football team has gotten off to a 3-0 start to the season thanks to a 31-24 win over Florida State at home last weekend. The Cavs are 2-0-1 against the spread and 2-1 with the over.
UVA is looking strong on both sides of the ball, as the defense is giving up just 18.3 points and 261.7 yards per contest. The offense is putting up 37.7 points and 412 yards per contest. Bryce Perkins has thrown for 668 yards and five touchdowns while rushing for 158 yards and a score. Wayne Taulapapa has added 119 rushing yards with four touchdowns. Joe Reed has 19 receptions for 175 yards and two touchdowns. Jordan Mack is leading the defense with 20 tackles and four sacks.

The Monarchs haven’t had much success with the ball, as they are averaging just 20.5 points and 308 yards per game this season. Defensively, ODU is giving up 26 points and 335.5 yards per game. College Football Betting Trends
Virginia
Virginia is 7-1-1 ATS in their last nine games in September and 7-2-1 ATS in their last 10 home games.
Old Dominion
The Monarchs are 5-2 against the spread in their last seven against a winning team and 4-1 ATS in their last five non-conference games.
Prediction:
Both teams aren’t impressive offensively, but have been pretty respectable on defense. My concern for Virginia is that the Cavs will find enough offense to cover this spread. UVA hasn’t overwhelmed the likes of Pitt and Florida State. While ODU isn’t as good as those teams, I don’t think the Monarchs are four-touchdowns worse than Virginia either. Virginia will play ball control with the lead and that will allow the Monarchs to stay within reach.
