Florida vs. Tennessee Pick
The Florida and Tennessee matchup in Knoxville on Saturday should be a defensive struggle at 3:30PM ET.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Volunteers are 6.5-point home favorites versus the Gators while the over/under currently sits at 43.5 points. While the total hasn't moved off the original number, the side has gone from Tennessee -8 down to Florida +6.5 as some bettors continue to take the points with the dog.
FLORIDA: The Gators are a perfect 3-0 to start the season but they haven't been kind to bettors that have backed them at the betting window, failing to cover in two of those three games. Last week they beat North Texas 32-0 but just failed to cover as a 32.5-point home favorite. The one game they did cover as a blowout, beating Kentucky 45-7 as a 14-point favorite.
TENNESSEE: The Volunteers are also a perfect 3-0 but like the Gators, they're 1-2 against the spread. They failed to cover as a 21.5-point home favorite versus Appalachian State in their opener and then failed to cover as a 27-point home favorite versus Ohio in a 28-19 win last Saturday. Their lone cover came on the road when they beat Virginia Tech 45-24 as an 11-point favorite at Bristol Motor Speedway.
OUR PICK: Given the fact that Florida has an outstanding defense, an offense that isn't explosive, and the fact that Tennessee has struggled offensively in two of its first three games, the under looks like the play here. That said, the over has cashed in five of the last six meetings between these two teams and is 5-1 in the Vols' last six games versus a team with a winning record. The over is also 19-7 in Tennessee's last 26 games in September and is 7-3 in Florida's last 10 games in September as well.
