Temple gets on the board

After losing to Villanova and Buffalo by one score each, the Owls bounced back last week with an impressive 35-14 win at Maryland. Temple is 1-2 against the spread this season while going 2-1 with the under. Temple is just 3-3 against the spread in its last six games.

The Owls are averaging 27 points per game on offense so far while giving up just 23 points per game. Their defense is allowing only 197.3 passing yards per contest. On offense, Ryquell Armstead is leading the offense with 256 rushing yards while quarterback Frank Nutile has thrown for 401 yards and four touchdowns with four interceptions.

Tulsa edged twice

The Tulsa football team opened the season with a win over Central Arkansas but then suffered back-to-back single-digit losses to Texas and Arkansas State. The Golden Hurricanes are 1-2 against the spread and 2-1 with the under heading into conference play. They are just 4-6 ATS in their last 10 games.

This season, Tulsa is giving up 28.0 points and 376.7 yards per game. They are allowing under 200 passing yards per contest. On offense, Tulsa is averaging 26.3 points and 387.3 yards per game. Luke Skipper has thrown for 521 yards and four touchdowns with three interceptions to lead the offense while Shamari Brooks has 310 rushing yards and four touchdowns.

College Football Betting Trends

Temple

The Owls are 8-2 against the spread in their last 10 games against losing teams and 20-9 ATS in their last 29 games overall.

Tulsa

Tulsa is 7-1 against the spread in its last eight games on grass and 16-5 ATS in its last 21 road games.

Prediction:

The spread is awfully small and Temple has had good success over Tulsa the last two meetings. The Owls earned a 43-22 road win last season and a 35-24 win at home back in 2014. Tulsa doesn’t have the offense it has been known for in previous seasons and I think that will hurt it at Temple tonight. The Owls should have a strong enough defense to keep Tulsa at bay at home. I like the Owls to cover in this one.
