TCU falls to Ohio State
After a dominant 2-0 start to the season, TCU fell to Ohio State last week at AT&T Stadium for its first loss of the year. The Horned Frogs covered in the 40-28 loss to move to 2-1 against the spread and they have hit the over in two of their three games.
Outside of the loss last week, TCU has been really stingy on defense. The Horned Frogs are giving up just 19.7 points and 317.7 yards per game this year. On offense, TCU is posting 41.7 points and 467.7 yards per game. Their rushing attack is producing 225 yards per game. Quarterback Shawn Robinson has thrown for 644 yards and five touchdowns while rushing for 119 yards and three scores to lead the offense. Darius Anderson is leading the ground game with 259 yards and two touchdowns.
Texas rolls past USC
Things started rough for Texas this year with another loss to Maryland, but the Longhorns have followed that up with wins over Tulsa and USC. Last week’s win was a dominant victory at home 37-14. Texas is 1-2 against the spread while hitting the over in two of three games.
The Longhorns have been respectable on defense so far, allowing just 23 points and 359 yards per game. On offense, Texas is putting up 31.3 points and 425.7 yards per game. They are also led by their ground attack, which is putting up 181 yards per game. They have four players with over 100 yards rushing, including QB Sam Ehlinger, who has 116 yards and two touchdowns. He has thrown for 723 yards and six touchdowns as well.
College Football Betting Trends
TCU
TCU has hit the under in 13 of its last 16 road games and in nine of its last 13 games overall.
Texas
Texas has hit the under in 10 of its last 14 home games and in 37 of its last 51 conference games.
Prediction:
This total is awfully low, but these two have hit the under in five of their last six and their last two meetings have produced less than 40 points. I think TCU should be able to score on this Texas defense. The Horned Frogs have a tempo that is hard for teams to deal with and the Texas defense hasn’t quite turned the corner. TCU’s defense is pretty solid, but Texas probably learned a thing or two from Ohio State last weekend. The Longhorns have been improving on offense and I think they will be up to the challenge of finding some scores on this defense.
