Stanford vs. Oregon Total Prediction
A pair of 3-0 teams from the Pac-12 will meet on Saturday night in Eugene where the Oregon Ducks will host the Stanford Cardinal at 8:00 p.m. ET. These two teams have often combined to go over the betting total in previous meetings but will that be the case this time around?
Game Snapshot
355 Stanford Cardinal at 356 Oregon Ducks
8:00 p.m. ET, Saturday, September 22, 2018
Autzen Stadium, Eugene, Oregon
Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetNow.eu, the Cardinal are 1.5-point favorites to beat the Ducks. The total, meanwhile, sits at 56 points. As of this writing, 65% of the public betting tickets wagered on this matchup are on the Cardinal.
Stanford Cardinal
Stanford senior RB Bryce Love (undisclosed) is expected to play in Saturday’s game against Oregon. Love (5’10/202) sat against UC Davis over the weekend, but by all accounts that was just a precautionary measure. Barring any sort of late setback, look for the senior standout to be back in action against the Ducks come Saturday. When last we saw Love, he was gouging USC for 136 yards rushing and a touchdown in an easy Week 2 victory. Cameron Scarlett would fill in for him if the Cardinal opt to play it safe at the last minute come the weekend.
Oregon Ducks
Oregon junior WR Brenden Schooler (concussion) has been medically cleared to play in Saturday’s game against Stanford. Schooler (6’2/190) has made his way through the concussion protocol in relatively short order after sustaining a head injury against San Jose State this past Saturday. He figures to fall back into his regular reserve role now that he’s back at full strength. In two-plus contests this season, the junior wideout has caught four passes for 30 yards.
Betting Trends
Stanford
The under is 7-2 in the Cardinal’s last nine conference games and 10-3 in their last 13 games overall.
Oregon
The under is 8-3 in the Ducks’ last 11 conference games and 10-3 in their last 13 games coming off a win.
Prediction
The over has been profitable when these two teams have met in previous meetings. In the last 13 meetings overall, the over is 10-3 and in the last six meetings in Eugene, the over is 5-1. When the Ducks play at home, the over has also been profitable for bettors, going 53-21-1. Finally, the over is also 5-2 in the Cardinals’ last seven games after allowing less than 100 yards rushing in their previous game. With Love back for Stanford, the Cardinal is at full strength offensively and I see plenty of points scored Saturday night in Oregon.
