Bet on TCU vs. SMU

TCU improved to 2-1 on the season with a 41-20 win over Iowa State last week. The Horned Frogs have yet to cover the spread in all three games while hitting the over in all three. TCU has been its usual self on offense this season, averaging 46 points and 571 yards per game, but the defense has taken a step back in 2016, giving up 34 points and 406 yards per game. The Frogs have been led by Kenny Hill, who has thrown for 1,035 yards and four scores while rushing for 166 yards and six touchdowns.

SMU picked up a 29-14 win over Liberty last week to improve to 2-1 on the season. The Mustangs are 3-0 against the spread while hitting the under in all three contests. SMU is putting up 490.7 yards per game right now, but only averaging 25.3 points per contest. Defensively, the Mustangs are giving up 403.3 yards and 25 points per game. The team has been dealing with the season-ending injury to Matt Davis, which has forced Ben Hicks under center. He has thrown for 583 yards and two scores, but has five interceptions. Braeden West is leading the offense with 332 rushing yards and two scores.

Both teams are gaining plenty of yards and giving up plenty. However, SMU hasn’t been able to capitalize with points on the board. That shouldn’t be as much of an issue this week against TCU, which is really struggling on defense. The TCU offense should be able to steamroll SMU as well, which will lead to plenty of points. SMU has hit the under in all three games, but it’s been due to some lofty totals. At just 64 for this game, look for the over to hit.
