Bet on Clemson vs. Georgia Tech

Clemson is now 3-0 on the season after picking up a 59-0 win over South Carolina State. Last Saturday marked the first time the Tigers covered the spread this season as they beat Troy and Auburn by just 6 points each. Clemson’s offensive numbers improved to 36 points and 456 yards per game with last week’s win. The defense is allowing just 250 yards and 12.3 points per contest right now. Deshaun Watson has had a modest 692 passing yards with seven touchdowns this season while Wayne Gallman has run for 197 yards.

Georgia Tech is coming off a 38-7 win over Vanderbilt last weekend. The Yellow Jackets are already 1-0 on the ACC thanks to their win over Boston College in the season opener. Tech is 1-0-1 against the spread and 1-0-1 with the under on the season. Tech is putting up 30 points and 397.7 yards per game right now on offense, but the real key is its defense, which is giving up just 10.3 points and 305 yards per game. Justin Thomas has thrown for 335 yards and a touchdown while rushing for 169 yards and a score. Four others backs have 90 rushing yards or more for the Jackets through three games.

A trip to Georgia Tech hasn’t gone well for Clemson in the past. The Tigers have lost their last four trips to Tech and the Yellow Jackets offense can be tough to adjust to. Clemson’s offense hasn’t been quite as explosive as we are accustomed to and they could run into problems against Georgia Tech’s defense. Clemson is only 2-7 against the spread in its last 9 road games and 4-10 ATS in its last 14 ACC games. Look for Tech to keep this game close and give Clemson a scare.
