South Florida Bulls Game Notes
South Florida HC Jeff Scott is anticipating “at least one or more” players to miss Saturday’s game against Notre Dame following the team’s COVID-19 testing and protocols. Missing any amount of players is bad. Missing any amount of players as a massive underdog to Notre Dame is especially bad. First-year HC Scott did not clarify exactly how many players will be out due to COVID-related issues this Saturday, but any hit to the team’s active roster would be tough. For what it’s worth, USF had two confirmed cases on the football team back in June. Expect more clarity on who is out for Saturday’s game as kickoff gets a bit closer.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish Game Notes
Notre Dame HC Brian Kelly confirms senior WR Bennett Skowronek (hamstring) will miss Saturday’s game against USF. Earlier this week, Kelly revealed Skowronek (6’3/224) had pulled a hamstring against Duke, but there was no confirmation as to whether that meant the wide receiver would miss the USF game. Now, with game day just two days away, Kelly is officially keeping Skowronek off the USF game day roster. Skowronek is in his first season with Notre Dame after spending his first four with Northwestern. In four seasons at Northwestern, Skowronek caught 110 passes for 1,417 yards and eight touchdowns, most of which was accumulated during the 2017 and 2018 seasons.
