Cowboys rolling along
Oklahoma State has put up three lopsided wins to open the season, including a 40-21 win at Tulsa last weekend. The Cowboys are 3-0 against the spread as well as 2-1 with the over this year.
OSU has been great on offense thus far, averaging 49.3 points and 547 yards per game behind a balanced attack. Chuba Hubbard is leading the offense with 521 rushing yards and seven touchdowns while quarterback Spencer Sanders has thrown for 622 yards and seven scores while rushing for 219 yards and a touchdown. Tylan Wallace is the team’s leading receiver with 15 catches for 390 yards and six touchdowns. The Oklahoma State defense is giving up just 23.7 points and 387.3 yards per game. Amen Ogbongbemiga is leading the defense with 25 tackles and 3.5 sacks.
Longhorns bounce back
After suffering a tough 45-38 loss at home to LSU two weeks ago, Texas bounced back with a 48-13 win at Rice last Saturday. The Longhorns are 2-1 on the year, 2-1 against the spread and 3-0 with the over.
Texas has been pretty impressive on offense, putting up 43.7 points and 497.7 yards per game in 2019. The Longhorn defense is giving up just 24 points per game, but allowing 417.3 yards per outing. Their pass defense is giving up 330 yards per contest. Offensively, Sam Ehlinger is leading the team with 956 passing yards and 11 touchdowns while also rushing for 121 yards and a score. Keaontay Ingram is the leading rusher with 181 yards and three scores while Devin Duvernay is the leading receiver with 27 catches for 269 yards and three touchdowns.
College Football Betting Trends
Oklahoma State
The Cowboys have hit the over in 24 of their last 33 conference games and in 27 of their last 39 on fieldturf.
Texas
Texas has hit the under in 38 of its last 53 conference games and in 21 of its last 26 following a cover.
Prediction:
Both teams have been strong with the over this year and I think it’s going to take a lot of points to win this game. These two have put up over 70 points in two of their last three meetings, but both were in Stillwater. Despite that, the Texas defense showed against LSU that it struggled with the pass. I think that will still be on display against this Oklahoma State offense. The Cowboys aren’t as good of a defensive team as their numbers show, so I would expect Texas to be able to score at a high rate as well.
