Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers at BetNow.eu, Michigan is favored at home, as the Wolverines are getting odds of -19 points against Nebraska. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 50 points. The public betting for this game currently has 58 percent backing Michigan at home. This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our College Football Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.
Nebraska off to slow start
Nebraska has had a rough start to the Scott Frost era, suffering losses to Colorado and Troy by five points each. The Cornhuskers have been the favorite in both games and they have hit the under in both contests.
The Cornhuskers are averaging just 23.5 points and 464.5 yards per game on offense. They have a strong rushing attack that is putting up 258 yards per contest. Adrian Martinez missed last game with a knee injury and is questionable for Saturday. He threw for 187 yards and a touchdown while rushing for 117 yards in its first game. Greg Bell is the leading rusher with 168 yards.
Michigan wins back-to-back
The Michigan football team started with a loss to Notre Dame, but has picked up back-to-back wins over Western Michigan and SMU. The Wolverines are 1-2 against the spread while hitting the under in two of their three games.
The Wolverines are a strong defensive team that are giving up 15.7 points and 276.3 yards per game. Their pass defense is holding opponents to 154.7 yards per game. Offensively, Michigan is putting up 37 points and 397.3 yards per contest. Their run game is putting up 187.7 yards per contest. Karan Higdon and Chris Evans have combined for nearly 400 rushing yards and four touchdowns, but both are dealing with injuries that have them questionable to play on Saturday. Shea Patterson has thrown for 589 yards and six touchdowns.
College Football Betting Trends
Nebraska
Nebraska has hit the over in three of its last four conference games and in six of their last eight road games.
Michigan
Michigan is 5-2 with the over in its last seven conference games and 7-3 with the over in its last 10 games against a team with a losing record.
Prediction:
Nebraska hasn’t looked stellar yet and the defense has been a mess. The Cornhuskers are likely to give up some points against Michigan. While it’s hard to know if Nebraska can score on Michigan, the Cornhuskers should be able to manufacture some points in this game as they continue to improve with more time under Frost. The total could go up as the injuries clear up, but for now I like the over with this low total.
