Boston College off to 3-0 start
Boston College has gotten off to a nice 3-0 start following a 41-34 win at Wake Forest last weekend. The Eagles have covered the spread in all three wins while hitting the over in all three. They are 5-0-1 with the over in their last six games.
BC is having a great start offensively, averaging 52.7 points and 577.3 yards per game. The Eagles have great balance, averaging nearly the same on the ground and in the air. Anthony Brown has thrown for 626 yards and nine touchdowns without an interception. He also has completed 68 percent of his passes. AJ Dillon has rushed for 432 yards and four touchdowns. Defensively, Boston College is allowing 23 points and 340.7 yards per game. The Eagles are allowing just 176 passing yards per contest.
Purdue can’t win
Purdue came into the season with a lot of buzz after a solid 2017 season, but the Boilermakers are off to an 0-3 start with losses to Northwestern, Eastern Michigan and Missouri. Purdue is 1-2 against the spread while going 2-1 with the over. The Boilers are 4-1 with the over in their last five games.
Purdue is giving up 30.3 points and 475 yards per game on defense right now. Their pass defense is giving up 319 yards per contest. On offense. Purdue is putting up 27.7 points and 520.7 yards per game. David Blough has thrown for 694 yards and three touchdowns this year while also rushing for 54 yards. D.J. Knox is the leading rusher with 252 yards and two touchdowns. Rondale Moore has added 25 catches for 262 yards and two scores.
College Football Betting Trends
Boston College
Boston College has hit the over in its last four non-conference games while going 9-2-1 with the under in its last 12 games against a team with a losing record.
Purdue
Purdue is 5-1 with the under in its last six games following a loss and has hit the under in five of its last seven games in September.
Prediction:
Boston College has been somewhat opposite of what they usually are, playing well on offense while their defense is somewhat suspect this year. They showed some weakness at Wake Forest, but still made it work. Purdue’s offense has looked pretty rough this year and I think the Boilers will struggle with BC and its physicality. The total is just too high as I expect the BC offense to take a step back this week on the road against Purdue.
College Football Prediction: Boston College/Purdue Under 68
