Washington bounces back
After getting edged at home by Cal two weeks ago, Washington was able to bounce back this last weekend with a 52-20 win over Hawaii. The Huskies are 2-1 on the season, 2-1 against the spread and 2-1 with the over.
The Huskies are solid on both sides of the ball right now, averaging 39.3 points and 456 yards per game on offense while giving up just 18 points and 324 yards per game on defense. Jacob Eason has thrown for 773 yards and seven touchdowns to lead the offense this year while Hunter Bryant, a tight end, is his top target with 15 catches for 236 yards and a score. Salvon Ahmed is the leading rusher with 246 yards and two touchdowns. Miles Bryant is leading the defense with 15 tackles and two interceptions.
BYU with another OT victory
The BYU Cougars picked up their second consecutive OT victory last weekend by edging USC, 30-27. The Cougars are now 2-1 on the season, 2-1 against the spread and 2-1 with the under.
BYU has been middle of the road on offense and defense, but still finding ways to win. The offense averages just 23.7 points and 356.3 yards per game while the defense gives up 27.7 points and 412.7 yards per contest. Zach Wilson has thrown for 720 yards and two touchdowns this year, but also has two interceptions. Ty’Son Williams is the team’s leading rusher with 236 yards and three touchdowns while Micah Simon has 13 receptions for 210 yards.
College Football Betting Trends
Washington
The Huskies are 8-1 with the under in their last nine games in September and 11-2 in their last 13 games against a team with a winning record.
BYU
The Cougars are 9-1 with the under in their last 10 games against Pac-12 opponents and 6-1 with the under in their last seven games in September.
Prediction:
These two have hit the under in three straight meetings and I would expect more of the same in this meeting. Fifty points isn’t much, but the defenses will be the story in this contest. Washington is hitting the road for the first time this season, so the offense is likely to have some struggles, especially against a physical BYU defense. The Cougars haven’t been very impressive on offense as is, so you can’t expect that to change against the Washington defense.
