Miami beat up at Cincinnati
Miami is coming off a 35-13 loss at Cincinnati this past weekend. The Bearcats had lost to Ohio State the week before, 42-0. Miami is 1-2 on the season, 1-2 against the spread and 2-1 with the over.
The RedHawks haven’t looked very impressive this year. The offense is putting up 25 points per game, but averaging just 267 yards per contest. Defensively, Miami is allowing 30 points and 389 yards per game. Brett Gabbert is leading the offense with 481 passing yards and two touchdowns while Jalen Walker is the leading receiver with four catches for 113 yards. Tyre Shelton is the team’s leading rusher, as he has 108 yards and a TD on 24 carries.
Ohio State rolling
Ohio State picked up a 51-10 road win over Indiana last weekend in its Big Ten opener. The Buckeyes are 3-0 on the year, 2-1 against the spread and 1-1-1 with the over/under total through three games.
The Buckeyes are pretty dominant on both sides of the football. Offensively, OSU is putting up 46 points and 499 yards per game. The defense is giving up 10.3 points and 252.7 yards per contest. Running back J.K. Dobbins has been leading the team with 425 yards and four touchdowns. Quarterback Justin Fields has 657 passing yards and nine touchdowns while rushing for 114 yards and four more scores. Binjimen Victor is the team’s leading receiver with 11 catches for 200 yards and a touchdown.
College Football Betting Trends
Miami
The ReHawks are 6-2 with the over in their last eight against Big Ten opponents and 5-2 with the over in their last seven road games.
Ohio State
The Buckeyes are 5-1 with the under in their last six home games against a team with a losing road record, but 17-4 with the over in their last 21 games after allowing less than 20 points in their previous game.
Prediction:
These two have hit the over in their last two meetings, including a 56-10 win for OSU in the last meeting. Like last week at Indiana, Ohio State should contend for hitting the total on its own this weekend. The Buckeyes have too much explosiveness for Miami to be able to get many, if any, defensive stops. The RedHawks aren’t likely to do much on offense, but anything more than 7 points should be enough for this over to hit with some ease.
