Auburn off to hot start
Auburn is off to a really strong start in 2019. The Tigers moved to 3-0 last weekend with a 55-16 win over Kent State at home. Auburn is also 3-0 against the spread while going 2-1 with the under.
The Tigers have looked great defensively this year, allowing just 14.3 points and 292 yards per game. Offensively, Auburn is putting up 35.3 points and 465 yards per game. Auburn is being led by JaTarvious Whitlow, who has rushed for 341 yards and three touchdowns. Freshman QB Bo Nix has thrown for 545 yards and four touchdowns while rushing for 79 yards. Eli Stove is the leading receiver with 16 catches for 133 yards and two touchdowns. The Auburn defense is being led by Marlon Davidson, who has 15 tackles with 2.5 sacks.
A&M bounces back
The Texas A&M Aggies bounced back from a loss at Clemson two weeks ago by dominating Louisiana-Monroe last weekend, 62-3. A&M is 2-1 overall, 3-0 against the spread and 2-1 with the under.
The Aggies have been great on both sides of the ball, as the defense is giving up just 11.3 points and 268.3 yards per contest. Offensively, A&M is averaging 37.7 points and 466.7 yards per game. Quarterback Kellen Mond is leading the team with 747 yards and five touchdowns, but also has three interceptions. Isaiah Spiller is the leading rusher with 246 yards and two scores, but the team did lose running back Jashaun Corbin for the year with a hamstring injury. He had 137 yards on 35 carries. Jhamon Ausbon is the leading receiver with 17 catches for 253 yards and two touchdowns. Roney Elam has been leading the defense with eight tackles, two interceptions and one sack.
College Football Betting Trends
Auburn
The Tigers are 14-6 with the under in their last 20 games overall and 7-3 with the under in their last 10 SEC games.
Texas A&M
The Aggies are 4-1 with the over in their last five home games, but 5-2 with the under in their last seven conference games.
Prediction:
These two have hit the over in six of their last eight meetings, but I think this is going to be a defensive battle on Saturday. Neither team has a quarterback that you can expect to really take over a game against a good defense. Similar to the Texas A&M and Clemson matchup, I expect both offenses to struggle to sustain drives. Auburn struggled with the Tulane and Oregon defenses, so the A&M defense on the road should be a real problem.
