Louisiana Tech vs. Clemson Prediction

Louisiana Tech vs. Clemson, 9/17/22 CFB Betting Odds, Prediction & Trends

Clemson is off to a 2-0 start but hasn’t been challenged. The Tigers are unlikely to receive a stiff test on Saturday night when they host Louisiana Tech at 8:00 p.m. ET, but will the Bulldogs cover as heavy road dogs?

Louisiana Tech Bulldogs Game Notes

Parker McNeil is slated to make his second straight start at quarterback for Saturday's contest against Clemson, John Sartori of NBC6 reports. Last week against Stephen F. Austin, McNeil completed 11 of 23 pass attempts for 197 yards, three touchdowns and one interception in his first start for the Bulldogs. Although he completed less than 50 percent of his passes and threw a pick in Week 2, the 224-pounder will serve as the team's starter Saturday against the Tigers.

Clemson Tigers Game Notes

DJ Uiagalelei completed 21-of-27 passes for 231 yards with two touchdowns and one interceptions in Saturday's 35-12 win over Furman. Uiagalelei's middling performance continued on Saturday as he didn't play poorly but was less than impressive again against the far inferior competition.

Louisiana Tech vs. Clemson Betting Trends

Bulldogs are 2-6-1 ATS in their last 9 games overall

Bulldogs are 0-4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games

Tigers are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall

Louisiana Tech vs. Clemson Betting Prediction

I’m avoiding the side in this game and going with the total instead. The over cashed in all six of LA Tech’s previous games, is 6-0 in the Bulldogs’ last six non-conference games and is 7-1 in their last eight games in September. The over is also 5-2 in the Bulldogs’ last seven road games and is 17-4 in their last 21 games after accumulating more than 450 total yards in their previous game.
