Fresno State Bulldogs Game Notes

Jake Haener amassed 360 yards going 29 for 45 and scored one touchdown Saturday as Fresno State fell to Oregon State 35-32. Haener threw for an impressive amount of. yards with 360, but his one touchdown was not enough to bring Fresno State to their first 2-0 start since 2013. Haener's four-yard touchdown pass did not come until there was 1:05 left in the fourth quarter, and he will look to score earlier on against USC Saturday.

USC Trojans Game Notes

Caleb Williams completed 20 of 27 passes for 341 yards and four touchdowns in Saturday's 41.28 win over Stanford. He also rushed nine time for four yards. The Trojans' offense was virtually unstoppable again this week, although Williams' utilization of the RPO wasn't as strong as it was in Week 1. Still, his synergy with Jordan Addison and Mario Williams was on full display in the win, lifting Williams into rarified air as one of the nation's best signal-callers. He should keep rolling against Fresno State next weekend.

Fresno State vs. USC Betting Prediction

The Trojans have looked strong in the early going but Fresno State has also had success ATS dating back to last year so I’m going to pass on the spread. Instead, I’m taking the over, which is 3-0-1 in the last four meetings between these two teams in Southern Cal and is 3-0-1 in the last four meetings overall. The over is also 4-1 in the Bulldogs’ last five games played in September, is 19-6-1 in their last 26 games against the Pac-12 and is 5-2 in their last seven road games versus a team with a winning home record. On the other side, the over is 7-0 in the Trojans’ last seven home games, is 4-1 in their last five games overall and is 4-1 in their last five games coming off a win.
