Kentucky off to hot start

The Kentucky Wildcats are off to a 2-0 start with double-digit wins over Toledo and Eastern Michigan. Kentucky has covered the spread in both victories while hitting the over in both games as well.

Kentucky is putting up 38 points and 441.5 yards per game on offense while giving up 20.5 points and 366.5 yards per contest. The team took a big blow last week when quarterback Terry Wilson suffered a torn patellar tendon and will miss the rest of the season. He had thrown for 360 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 44 yards and a score. Sawyer Smith now steps in. He has thrown for 76 yards and two touchdowns this year. Kavosiey Smoke is the team’s leading rusher with 170 yards and two scores while Lynn Bowden Jr. has 13 catches for 131 yards and a score.

Gators look for 3-0 start

Florida is off to a 2-0 start to the season with wins over Miami and Tennessee-Martin. The Gators are 1-1 against the spread thus far while hitting the under in both of their contests.

The Gators have been great on defense thus far, limiting opponents to 10 points and 247.5 yards per game. The offense is putting up 34.5 points and 423.5 yards per contest. Quarterback Feleipe Franks is leading the way for the team with 524 passing yards and four touchdowns while rushing for 45 yards and a score. Josh Hammond is his leading receiver with eight catches for 115 yards while Lamical Perine is the leading rusher with 93 yards and a touchdown. The Florida defense has 15 sacks as a team already with Jabari Zuniga leading the way with three.

College Football Betting Trends

Kentucky

Kentucky is just 7-3 against the spread in their last 10 games against a winning team, but 2-5 ATS in their last seven games on grass.

Florida

The Gators are 5-1 against the spread in their last six road games and they have covered in four straight games in September.

Prediction:

Kentucky has been playing well, but the injury at quarterback is likely to lead to some problems tonight, especially against a defense as strong as Florida’s. The Gators haven’t been very powerful on offense either, but I think they will ride their defense to a cover. Florida can create turnovers and short fields for the offense, which will lead to some points against the Wildcats. Expect Kentucky to really struggle with the ball tonight.
