According to the latest oddsmakers, Boston College is the clear favorite in this game, as the Eagles are getting odds of -20.5 points against Kansas. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 50.5 points. The public betting currently has 75 percent going on Boston College as the home favorite. This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our NCAAF Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.
BC looks to go 3-0
Boston College is off to a 2-0 start after beating up on Richmond last weekend, 45-13. The Eagles were a 33.5-point favorite, so they failed to cover, but they had covered in their opener as an underdog against Virginia Tech in Week 1. BC has hit the over in both games.
Usually known for defense, Boston College is off to a hot start on offense this year. The Eagles are putting up 40 points and 475 yards per game thus far while giving up 20.5 points and 403 yards per game on defense. The BC ground attack already has three players with over 110 yards. AJ Dillon is leading the way with 167 yards and three scores. Anthony Brown has thrown for 438 yards and five touchdowns.
Kansas looking to bounce back
Kansas’ hopes to start 2-0 under new coach Les Miles were dashed last weekend in a 12-7 loss at home to Coastal Carolina. The Jayhawks are 1-1 overall, 0-2 against the spread and 2-0 with the under in 2019.
The Jayhawks certainly aren’t creating any fears on offense thus far, averaging just 15.5 points and 312 yards per game against two pretty weak opponents. Defensively, Kansas is playing pretty well. The Jayhawks are allowing just 14.5 points and 328 yards per game so far. Quarterback Carter Stanley has thrown for 348 yards and two touchdowns with two interceptions through two games while Khalil Herbert is the leading rusher with 170 yards and a touchdown. Andrew Parchment has 11 catches for 135 yards to lead the receivers.
College Football Betting Trends
Boston College
The Eagles are just 2-5 against the spread in their last seven Friday games and 10-4-1 ATS in their last 15 following a win.
Kansas
The Jayhawks are 10-21 ATS in their last 31 games against a winning team and 16-36-1 ATS in their last 53 road games.
Prediction:
Kansas hasn’t had much competition yet this season, so moving up to Boston College is likely going to lead to some struggles, especially on the road. BC has been able to move the ball well this season, including against Virginia Tech’s defense, which is far superior to that of Kansas. The Eagles are likely to get back to being a dominant defense this week as well against a Kansas offense that looks lost. I like the Eagles to handle this big spread.
