Idaho vs. Washington Pick
With Idaho and Washington meeting at 5:00PM ET today, will the two teams score enough points to push the score over the total for bettors?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Huskies are 37.5-point home favorites versus the Vandals, while the over/under currently sits at 61 points. Washington did open as a 36.5-point favorite, but the number was pushed up a full point, while the total opened at 60 and was bet up a full point as well.
The Vandals could only muster 20 points against FCS foe Montana State in their season-opener last weekend. Idaho did win the game 20-17, but came nowhere closing to covering as a 14.5-point home favorite. Matt Linehan struggled with his accuracy, completing just 8-of-22 pass attempts for 128 yards with no touchdowns and one interception. Aaron Duckworth did rush 14 times for 108 yards and two touchdowns, however.
As for the Huskies, they blew out Rutgers 48-13 as a 25-point home favorite last Saturday in Seattle. Sophomore quarterback Jake Browning completed 18-of-27 passes for 287 yards with three touchdowns and one interception while Myles Gaskin rushed 15 times for just 57 yards in the victory. (See why we think Washington will cover the spread today vs. Idaho.)
OUR PICK: Washington is going to win this game in a rout but Idaho won't contribute enough offensively for the game to go over the total. And once Chris Petersen knows the game is in hand, he'll start removing starters late in the third quarter, which will suppress scoring even more. The under is 21-9 in the Huskies' last 30 home games and 12-4 in their last 16 games in September.
