According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Alabama is the clear favorite at home in this contest, as the Crimson Tide are getting odds of -35 points against the Blue Raiders. These two last met in 2005 with Alabama getting a 26-7 win at home. The Tide have actually failed to cover in their last 5 games against Conference USA opponents.

Alabama started the season last week with a 35-17 win over Wisconsin at AT&T Stadium. The Tide covered a 12.5-point spread in the process while going over a 44.5-point total. Alabama really dominated the line of scrimmage, outgaining the Badgers 502-268 in total yards and 238-40 in rushing yards. Derrick Henry rushed for 147 yards on 13 carries and scored three times while Jake Coker had 213 passing yards with one touchdown on 15 of 21 passing.

Middle Tennessee started the season with a 70-14 win over Jacksonville State, covering a 39.5-point spread in the process. The over/under total was only at 57 points for the game. Brent Stockstill threw for 336 yards and four touchdowns to lead the offense while Jordan Parker and Shane Tucker combined for 129 rushing yards on 30 carries. Ed’Marques Batties added eight receptions for 123 yards with two touchdowns.
