Louisville Cardinals Game Notes

Coach Scott Satterfield was optimistic coming into the season with 17 starters back, including 10 from a defense that registered 33 sacks and intercepted 10 passes last season. The Cardinals sacked Shrader twice but registered zero turnovers. Cunningham played a huge role on offense last year, throwing for 2,841 of his 3,872 yards from scrimmage and rushing for 20 of his 39 touchdowns. He has to recapture that magic touch.

UCF Knights Game Notes

A stellar defensive effort by the Knights limited the Bulldogs to just 91 yards of total offense. That mark is tied for No. 1 nationally with Minnesota for the fewest yards allowed in a game this season. UCF allowed just 35 rushing yards and 56 yards passing. Additionally, the 56 passing yards allowed rank fourth in the NCAA and the 35 rushing yards allowed ranks 10th nationally.

Dating back to last season, the Cardinals have now failed to cover in five of their last seven games overall and are just 7-15-1 against the number in their last 23 away games. They’re also 1-4 at the betting window in their last five games coming off a loss of more than 20 points and have dropped four of their last five non-conference games as well. On the other side, the Knights are 4-1 against the spread in their last five non-conference games and have covered in 44 of their last 65 games after allowing less than 100 yards rushing in their previous contest.
