According to oddsmakers at BetNow.eu, Boise State is the clear favorite in this game, as the Broncos are getting odds of -31.5 points against Connecticut. This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our College Football Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.
Boise State cruises at Troy
Boise State went on the road and picked up a solid 56-20 win at Troy last weekend the Broncos were a 9-point favorite coming in and easily covered the spread while going over the 48.5-point total on their own. The Broncos have hit the over in four of their last six games.
While the defense gave up nearly 400 yards to Troy, the Broncos forced four turnovers in the win last weekend. On offense, Boise State put up 416 total yards, including 305 passing yards. Brett Rypien threw for 305 yards and four touchdowns in the win for Boise while Sean Modster caught seven passes for 167 yards and two scores.
Huskies struggle in opener
The Connecticut football team continued where it left off last season by suffering a 56-17 loss at home to Central Florida. The Huskies have lost six straight as a program and they failed to cover the 24-point spread in the loss. They went over the 70-point total due to their poor defensive effort. UConn has hit the over in three of its last four games.
The Huskies couldn’t stop the Knights in the loss, giving up 652 total yards of offense in last week’s loss. They allowed 356 passing yards and 296 rushing yards. On offense, UConn put up 486 yards, but had three turnovers. David Pindell showed some impressive play for the Huskies, throwing for 266 yards and a touchdown while rushing for 157 yards and another score. Receiver Kyle Buss caught seven passes for 113 yards as well.
College Football Betting Trends
Boise State has hit the over in four of its last five non-conference games but just 15-5 in the under with their last 20 home games.
The Huskies have hit the over in four straight games in September and in five of their last seven road games against a team with a winning record.
The total is being set pretty high but I do think it can get hit. Boise State has an offense that is capable of putting up a big number, especially against a poor UConn defense on its home field. The Huskies aren’t likely to do great on offense, but I think they can find enough points in garbage time to help hit this lofty over.
College Football Prediction: Connecticut/Boise State Over 63.5
