Bama dominates another
Alabama overcame a slow start due to some suspensions, but eventually found its footing in a 42-3 win over Duke in Atlanta. The Crimson Tide covered a 33.5-point spread while going under a 57.5-point total.
The Bama offense put up 512 total yards in the win over Duke while holding the Blue Devils to just 204 total yards and creating three turnovers. Tua Tagovailoa threw for 336 yards and four touchdowns on 26 of 31 passing. Receiver Jerry Jeudy caught 10 passes for 137 yards and a touchdown while Jerome Ford was the leading rusher with 64 yards on 10 carries and a score.
Aggies beat up by Washington State
New Mexico State opened up its season by suffering a 58-7 loss at Washington State last Saturday. The Aggies were a 33-point underdog and didn’t come close to a cover, but did go under the 65.5-point total.
The Aggies gave up 618 yards of offense, including 507 passing yards, to the Cougars in last weekend’s loss. New Mexico State had just 317 yards of offense itself while committing three turnovers. College Football Betting Trends
Alabama
The Crimson Tide have failed to cover in four straight against losing teams and 1-4 ATS in their last five after a win.
New Mexico State
The Aggies are 0-4-1 ATS in their last five road games and 3-13 ATS in their last 16 non-conference games.
Prediction:
The public is siding with the Aggies and I can understand why, but there is a part of me that thinks it’s a trap. New Mexico State is pretty awful and the Cougars were able to move the ball with ease. Still, despite that, Washington State only won by 51 in that contest. Alabama is a team that will quickly go with backups if the game is getting out of hand and this game should get out of hand. In order to cover a 55.5-point spread, nearly everything has to go right. Odds are a missed assignment, a dropped pass or a fumble happen in this game to go against the Tide.
